Jennifer Lopez Expresses Worries Over May- December Relationship

Jennifer Lopez Expresses
Worries Over May-
December Relationship-Jennifer Lopez is not oblivious about what her
18- year age difference with boyfriend Casper Smart could mean for
their future together. J.Lo tells People for their cover story this
week how Casper, 25, "helped [her] heal" after her divorce from Marc
Anthony . However, for the first time the "Dance Again" singer
acknowledges she has doubts at times about their relationship. "I ask
him, 'Why don't you go find a young girlfriend and get out of here?
What do you want with me?' And you think, 'How long is this gone be?'
You think, 'Okay, in 10 years I'm going to be like this and you're
going to be like that' and … men at that age are … I think all
different things," Lopez, 43, tells the mag. "The truth is we don't
know what's going to happen. We're loving this moment right now. We
make each other happy." Lopez's relationship with Casper certainly
isn't her first romance to make headlines. The "Parker" actress was of
course once engaged to Ben Affleck and infamously dated Diddy."I don't
regret those things – that's who I am," Jennifer says about her
high-profile relationships. "But at least now I'm at a point where I
have to recognize that these choices and things that happen are partly
because of me and my decisions and I have to be more careful. So I am
being more careful." The Golden Globe Awards could have posed a
potentially awkward situation for Lopez, with three exes — Affleck,
Diddy, and Bradley Cooper — all in attendance. But the singer says on
" The Ellen DeGeneres Show " in an interview set to air Wednesday that
she was unfazed by it all. "I see them a lot," J.Lo responds when
asked whether it was awkward to all be in the same room. "We're in the
same business. We run in the same circles." Lopez even gave Affleck a
standing ovation when he took home the prize for Best Director for
"Argo." "It was a great movie. And, we got you know, a lot of like…
they were really hard on us in the press when we dated back in the
day. On movies and things like that," Lopez continued. "So it was a
nice moment. It was a nice to see him have that moment. I was really
happy for him."With Smart on her arm Sunday night omg! saw first hand
how Lopez was able to handle her exes with ease. Lopez, Smart, and
Diddy were all spotted together at the Weinstein bash and even kept
the pleasantries going late into the night at CAA's super private
after-party at the Sunset Tower Hotel. Lopez has certainly has a lot
of topics on her mind leading up to the release of her new film,
"Parker," co-starring Jason Statham, out January 25. With the new
season of "American Idol" beginning tonight, she admits to a bit of
nostalgia about her former judge's chair. "I am going to miss it," she
tells DeGeneres. "I love what I am doing but I am going to miss it. I
just had a good time. I love the people there, Randy, Ryan, Steven,
Nigel everybody behind the scenes …everybody. It was a nice little
family." Speaking of family, Jennifer also expressed that she'd indeed
like to have more kids one day soon. "I would love to have more," J.Lo
exclusively told E!'s Marc Malkin. "I don't know if it's in the cards
for me, but I would love it." Whether or not those plans could involve
Smart, we'll have to wait and see!

Katy Perry Dons Racy Patriotic Ensemble for Kids’ Inaugural Ball

Katy Perry Dons Racy
Patriotic Ensemble for
Kids' Inaugural Ball-Katy Perry brought more than just "Fireworks" to
inauguration weekend. The 28-year-old singer donned a patriotic
ensemble as she performed at the Kids' Inauguration Ball on Saturday
in Washington, D.C. The racy, curve-hugging one- piece she sported may
seem an odd choice for entertaining a few thousand children and their
parents, but at least she didn't sport her whipped cream-spewing bra,
right?.Perry appeared alongside Usher and the cast of "Glee" at the
fete, which was hosted by First Lady Michelle Obama and Vice President
Joe Biden's wife Jill in honor of military families. The only
surprising thing about Perry's appearance at the star-studded weekend
in the nation's capital is that she wasn't wearing a more partisan
outfit. During the campaign last fall, Perry stumped for the
President's re-election wearing Obama- themed looks. She wore a
form-fitting white mini dress made to look like a voting ballot
checked for the Obama-Biden ticket at a Las Vegas rally, and a rubber
frock emblazoned with the campaign slogan "Forward" in Milwaukee.John
Mayer's lady love explained her politically themed wardrobe in
November. "I've always said I'm a sucker for a theme, so if you give
me the President as the theme, I make these crazy dresses," she told
"Extra." "I'm just excited to be able to exercise my civic duty."

One Direction's Louis Tomlinson to get new braided HAIR DO (if hairdresser Lou Teasdale has her way)

One Direction's Louis Tomlinson to get new braided HAIR DO (if
hairdresser Lou Teasdale has her way)-One Direction 's Louis Tomlinson
has very pretty, lovely locks (that we'd rather like to run our hands
through for the rest of our lives). But he could be set to get a
DRASTIC new do if 1D's hairdresser Lou Teasdale has her way. The
barnet-styler has got her eyes on Louis to model the latest trend in
boys hairdos - BRAIDS! Yes really. Lou, who has the rather enviable
job of styling the tresses of Harry Styles , Zayn Malik , Liam Payne ,
Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan , has singled out Mr Tomlinson for the
new 'do. She posted on her Instagram last night: "Just practising the
next big thing in men's hair on @tomatkin think good for @Louis91
personally" alongside a snap of the style, which consists of lots of
little plaits all round the head. One Direction fans immediately piled
in, with most of them reckoning he would really suit the new style.
Forreveryounng posted: "Please do it on @louis91! I will love you
forever!! :3" Whilst gabbiedayrit7 was not as sure, posting: "Give it
a try, but if not, try giving him his old hair back!! :)" We wonder
what Louis' girlfriend Eleanor Calder would make of her boyfriend
having plaits. And although hairdresser Lou has chosen Louis to
experiment on this time, she recently said that it's Zayn whose hair
she loves the most. Speaking to The X Factor style blog she said:
"Zayn, because he lets me do what I want with it, I think he has the
coolest hair." And by the sounds of things she will NOT be taking her
scissors to Harry Styles' famous barnet anytime soon. She added: "They
all have pretty cool hair even though I do say so myself, god knows
where we're going to go with Harry's I don't dare change it!".And the
rest of the lads don't think Hazza will be getting a skin-head in the
near future. Niall recently told Access Hollywood "I can't see Harry
changing his hair. While Louis added: "Harry won't change his hair
until he goes bald, I don't think."

Chris Brown's Home Swarmed By Police After 'Swatting' Hoax

Chris Brown's Home
Swarmed By Police After
'Swatting' Hoax - According to the Los Angeles Times, authorities were
called to the singer's home after a call was made reporting domestic
violence at the residence. Police told the paper that the caller said
he was not sure if Brown's mother had been shot. When police arrived to
the singer's Los Angeles area home, only members of Brown's staff were
home and the singer was not present. Recent "swatting" pranks have
been pulled on Tom Cruise, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus and Ashton
Kutcher.Just last week, the Kardashian-Jenner clan became a victim of
celebrity "swatting" after a prank caller told 911 operators there had
been a shooting at the family compound -- and Kim Kardashian was none
too pleased with the hoax . "Just got a call from my mom telling me
about this prank call that someone was shot in their home & 15 swat
team & 3 helicopters showed up!" the mom-to-be Tweeted on Friday
night. "These prank calls are NOT funny! People can get arrested for
this!" she added. "I hope they find out who is behind this. It's
dangerous & not a joke!"

Taylor Swift Makes a Stunning Disney Princess

The country cutie who seems forever to be on the hunt for Prince
Charming (but mostly winds up with Prince Not-So- Muches) is the
latest star to pose for one of Disney's ads photographed by Annie
Leibovitz. Swift's signature long blond locks are put to great use in
the "Tangled"-inspired photo shoot; the 23-year-old looks
appropriately ethereal as a live-action Rapunzel sitting in the window
of her tall tower. "Where a world of adventure awaits," the image
promises. The advertisement for Disney Parks – set to be included in
upcoming issues of Vanity Fair, InStyle, and People – is part of the
ongoing Disney Dream Portrait series, which has featured stars from
Scarlett Johansson and Beyonce to Russell Brand and Will Ferrell, all
photographed by Leibovitz. Swift recently landed in London after
spending a few days in the recording studio. She and her most recent
ex, One Direction heartthrob Harry Styles, 18, are expected to attend
the same event in Cannes later this week.

Kate Upton's sexy car commercial ruffles some feathers

It's been a while since we had any clearly gratuitous beefcake or cheesecake here at the Ministry of Gossip, but thanks to Kate Upton and Mercedes-Benz, it's time for a little taste. The lovely and talented Ms. Upton stars in a new commercial for the car company, tantalizingly and rather obviously titled, "Kate Upton Washes the All-New Mercedes-Benz CLA in Slow Motion." What's not to love about that, right? Well, the Parents Television Council doesn't seem to be head over heels about it. "This ad [reinforces] for millions of wives, daughters and sisters across the country that you use your sex appeal to get what you want," a spokeswoman for the group told the Daily Mail. "If anything, this ad proves that we’ve regressed rather than progressed over the last several years." (Using sex appeal to market cars? Who'd'a thunk it?) Alas, the ad's twist is a cruel one, for those of us expecting a bit of skin. Despite the title, and despite our watching the video through to the end at least four or nine times just to make sure we didn't miss one slo-mo bit, at no point in the spot does Upton actually engage in washing the car. That, it seems, is a job better left to a bunch of cute-but-not-too-cute young men in football jerseys -- who may represent the "new, hip, and preferably younger buyers" that Forbes says the brand hopes to attract with the CLA. Many commenters on Mercedes' YouTube and Facebook pages seem to be unimpressed, calling the ad low-brow or dumb or even porn, while others seemed to get a kick out of it or wonder what the fuss was all about. Our fave comment? The one woman who called for an equal-opportunity version of the ad in which Jake Gyllenhaal was the one washing the car.

'The Following' premiere review: Kevin Bacon, Edgar Allan Poe, violence, vodka, and regret

Because it is the first new series to premiere containing substantial gore since the killings in Newtown, CT, The Following has taken an unfair amount of criticism for depictions of violence on television. As always with pop culture, drawing direct lines to entertainment that “glorifies” or even inspires violence is a vexed proposition. The Following is certainly no more violent than, say, American Horror Story: Asylum, which is wrapping up what’s turned out to be a very artful season this week, or Criminal Minds, which has long been drearily cynical. Creator-producer-writer Kevin Williamson played horror for giggles in Scream, but the horrors of a mass murderer get a grim, humorless treatment in The Following. It’s a series that makes the most of the gaunt face of star Kevin Bacon. Bacon, whose previous TV acting consisted mostly of pre-stardom soap opera roles, was ripe for a television series: In his early 50s, he’s got the trim, wiry body of someone at least a decade younger. He’s become the Iggy Pop of soulful acting. As former FBI agent Ryan Hardy, Bacon plays a man whose life was pretty much ruined by his successful pursuit of Joe Carroll, a charismatic serial killer plays by James Purefoy. At the start of the show, Hardy is revealed as a lonely wraith who subsists on vodka and regret; he’s pulled back into FBI action and forced to confront Carroll again. Although confined to prison, Carroll is so persuasive, he all but sends out zapping brain-commands to zealous fans – the following of the title – who commit crimes (murders, kidnapping) as acts of devotion. In future episodes, The Following will make direct references to Carroll’s crew as being similar to the kill-crazies who followed Charles Manson’s bug-eyed, Southern California, Beach-Boys-and-Beatles-themed criminal mind. And Manson provides a perfect argument for what I argued in the first paragraph: Who could have thought that the Fab Four’s “Helter Skelter” might have been on Manson and his dreafull little piggies’ pea-brains when he mind-controlled the Tate-LaBianco murders? The weakest element of The Following is the idea that Carroll was a spectacularly successful college professor who held his classes spellbound with lectures about Thoreau, Emerson, and most crucially, Edgar Allan Poe. His disciples leave Poe clues at the scenes of their crimes, such as scrawling the word “Nevermore” in blood on a wall, just so Ryan can yell triumphantly, “’The Raven’!” The flashbacks to Carroll’s classroom talks barely rise about high-school level discourse, and the show makes it seem as though no one except Carroll, his adepts, and Ryan have ever heard of “The Tell-Tale Heart” or “The Black Cat.” The Following is less an argument for less violence on television than an argument against tenure. But the strongest elements of The Following override this flaw. Both Bacon and Purefoy are so intensely earnest, the show quickly supercedes its patent Silence of the Lambs set-up. And Bacon has good chemistry with Natalie Zea as Carroll’s ex-wife, Ryan’s ex-lover, and mother of a son kidnapped by a trio Carroll’s followers. I still wish Zea had remained on Justified, but… Anyway, it’s the moments that focus on Carroll’s criminal cult that give the series its real power. Those wide-eyed adepts are genuinely spooky. Bacon has told EW that one of his favorite TV shows was 24, and The Following has a similar tick-tock timed-suspense aspect to its let’s get the kidnapper plot. But Ryan Hardy is no Jack Bauer. He’s an aspiring alcoholic with a pacemaker – a tell-tale heart-warmer of a guy who tries to come on cold and hostile. He doesn’t fool us for a moment, which is why we end up caring about this screwed-up hero and his mission to keep us both safe from and interested in what would otherwise be merely the umpteenth serial-killer in pop culture.

Los Angeles on view in 'Gangster Squad'

Production designer Maher Ahmad and his crew scoped out locations for an authentic taste of 'Gangster' L.A. Among the sites: City Hall and Clifton's Cafeteria. When mobster Mickey Cohen ruled Los Angeles in the late 1940s, his favorite hangout was the legendary Slapsy Maxie's nightclub on Wilshire Boulevard. It's long gone now of course, so to re-create it for the new film "Gangster Squad" the filmmakers had to be creative. Production designer Maher Ahmad found the right spot for Slapsy Maxie's almost by accident, while driving around with the film's first location manager. They had been looking for a vintage house in a suburban neighborhood when they passed an Art Deco-inspired block of empty businesses in Bellflower. What caught their attention was a large empty store that had been built as a J.C. Penney in 1952 and had last housed a supermarket. "It was a great find," said Ahmad. "The whole block was built at the same time." The exterior and interior were perfect so Ahmad went to work building the floor of the nightclub as well as its backstage area. He even built a replica of the office of Cohen's bookie business in the old department store. Instead of relying on sound stages and studio back lots, "Gangster Squad" took advantage of many real locations in Los Angeles to bring a vivid authenticity to the crime thriller set in 1949 Los Angeles. The film opened on Friday to mixed reviews. Among the recognizable locations used in the film are Los Angeles City Hall, the Park Plaza Hotel near MacArthur Park, Union Station, Olvera Street and Clifton's Cafeteria. Once a location was secured, it generally went through a massive transformation. "Any exterior that we were doing we had to remove the parking meters," said location manager Robin Citrin, who came on board the film while it was in production. "We had to change out the street lights, remove stop signals, take off the traffic signals." Even parking lines had to be changed, "because they didn't have diagonal lines," said Citrin. "We had to change the red curbs because they didn't have red curbs in 1949." Based on the book "Gangster Squad" by former Los Angeles Times reporter Paul Lieberman, the thriller revolves around a crew of brave LAPD officers who form a secret squad to rid the City of Angels of Mickey Cohen, the Brooklyn-born mobster who struck fear in the hearts of his rivals and had politicians and policemen in his pocket. Directed by Ruben Fleischer ("Zombieland"), the ensemble film features Sean Penn as Cohen, Josh Brolin, Ryan Gosling and Anthony Mackie as the members of the squad, Emma Stone as Cohen's mistress who falls for Gosling and Nick Nolte as legendary police chief William H. Parker, who wants to rid L.A. of the heinous Cohen. "There were about 50 or 60 location where we actually shot," said Ahmad, who has worked with Fleischer on his previous two films. Mary Zophres designed the costumes and Oscar-winning Dion Beebe was the cinematographer. Ahmad did an enormous amount of research, such as looking into the vintage locations and personalities of the era, as well as viewing motion pictures that were shot on location in L.A., including the 1949 film noir classic "D.O.A." "I and my assistants pulled about 20,000 stills for over 40 period films," said Ahmad. "Not just crime films — I also looked at a lot of musicals because musicals from that period all had nightclubs in them and we had four different nightclubs in our movies." The vintage downtown movie palace the Tower was the site of Club Figaro, a Mocambo-inspired nightclub owned by an Italian don who is Cohen's rival. "The theater had been converted into a venue and the seats were taken out and a flat floor was put in," said Ahmad. "We built a bar and did quite an elaborate re-dress job." The popular Hollywood eatery Lucy's El Adobe was the location for Cafe Caliente, where some of the officers hung out. "We repainted it and re-dressed it and hung new fixtures and put in a stained glass window," Ahmad said. "There are very few places in Los Angeles that at one point or another haven't been shot [in a movie]. What is unique for us is that a lot of those places haven't been shot as period."

Aaron Swartz, Tech Prodigy and Internet Activist, Is Dead at 26

Aaron Swartz, the brilliant young software programmer and Internet activist who inspired awe and reverence from some of the leading figures in the technology world, died in his Brooklyn apartment on Friday, his family said in a statement. New York City’s chief medical examiner ruled the death a suicide by hanging. Swartz was 26 years old. A computer prodigy, Swartz co-authored an early version of the popular Internet RSS software at age 14 and would later become an early leader of Reddit, the social website that has become a locus of Internet activism. A passionate advocate for social justice, Swartz founded the group Demand Progress, which played a crucial role in convincing the U.S. Congress to back down from controversial anti-piracy legislation last year. “Aaron’s insatiable curiosity, creativity, and brilliance; his reflexive empathy and capacity for selfless, boundless love; his refusal to accept injustice as inevitable—these gifts made the world, and our lives, far brighter,” his family said in a statement. “Aaron’s commitment to social justice was profound, and defined his life. He used his prodigious skills as a programmer and technologist not to enrich himself but to make the Internet and the world a fairer, better place.” Swartz believed deeply that information — particularly that which might benefit society — should be made available for free to the public. In 2011, Swartz was indicted on federal data theft charges for breaking into the M.I.T. computer system and allegedly downloading 4.8 million documents from the subscription based academic research database JSTOR. He was facing 35 years in prison and a fine of up to $1 million. Swartz pleaded not guilty. His trial was set to begin this April. In 2008, Swartz wrote a program to download some 20 million pages of legal documents from PACER, the Public Access to Court Electronic Records system, which charges 10 cents per page for access. Working with other activists, Swartz sought to make the documents available to the public at no charge. The government cracked down on this effort but did not file charges. Swartz’s efforts to “liberate” information from JSTOR and PACER made him a hero — indeed a legend — among Internet activists. Swartz was an early leader at Reddit, the giant online activist hub that has become a potent force in Internet politics. Reddit was sold to publishing giant Condé Nast in 2006. He later founded the group Demand Progress, which would play a key role in the epic 2011 battle between Internet activists and the entertainment industry over controversial anti-piracy legislation. (TIME Warner, parent company of TIME, supported the legislation, which was ultimately defeated.) Swartz, who studied at Stanford University for one year before dropping out, would later become a fellow at Harvard University’s Edmond J. Safra Center for Ethics, where he worked with Lawrence Lessig, the renowned law professor and activist. Over the years, Swartz worked with Lessig on several major projects, including Creative Commons and Rootstrikers. “He was brilliant, and funny,” Lessig wrote in a blog post Saturday. “A kid genius. A soul, a conscience, the source of a question I have asked myself a million times: What would Aaron think?” Swartz wrote candidly and movingly about his struggles with depression and other illnesses. In a 2007 blog post, he described lying in bed for weeks at a time. “Go outside and get some fresh air or cuddle with a loved one and you don’t feel any better, only more upset at being unable to feel the joy that everyone else seems to feel,” Swartz wrote. “Everything gets colored by the sadness.” In a statement, Swartz’s family criticized the way the federal government has handled the JSTOR case. “Aaron’s death is not simply a personal tragedy,” his family wrote. “It is the product of a criminal justice system rife with intimidation and prosecutorial overreach. Decisions made by officials in the Massachusetts U.S. Attorney’s office and at MIT contributed to his death.” News of Swartz’s passing prompted an outpouring of grief in the technology and Internet community on Saturday. “Aaron had an unbeatable combination of political insight, technical skill, and intelligence about people and issues,” Cory Doctorow, co-founder of the technology site BoingBoing, wrote in a heartfelt tribute to Swartz. “I think he could have revolutionized American (and worldwide) politics. His legacy may still yet do so.” Tim Berners-Lee, who is considered the founder of the World Wide Web, wrote on Twitter. “Aaron dead. World wanderers, we have lost a wise elder. Hackers for right, we are one down. Parents all, we have lost a child. Let us weep.”

celebrities: Justin Bieber caught smoking pot, says TMZ

Let the Justin Bieber Big Pot Scandal of 2013 begin. Days after a paparazzo was killed while trying to take pictures of Bieber's Ferrari, photos have emerged of the 18-year-old singer smoking what looks a lot like a marijuana cigarette at a big party inside a Newport Beach hotel room on Jan. 2, says TMZ. TMZ claims it obtained the snaps of Bieber holding an alleged blunt and laughing with friends, including 19-year-old rapper Lil Twist, who was driving Bieber's car at the time the paparazzo was killed on a highway in Los Angeles on Jan. 1. According to sources at the party, Lil Twist and his brother were the ones dishing out the pot to guests. After the photos surfaced, Bieber took to his Twitter to issue an apology of sorts. "Everyday growing and learning. trying to be better. u get knocked down, u get up," he wrote last night. "Back on tour tomorrow. ready to see u all smile. time to do what im supposed to be doing. performing. #BELIEVEtour." TMZ reported last week that the photographer who was struck by a car and killed while trying to photograph Bieber's car told colleagues he saw the singer smoking pot earlier that day.

Alabama's AJ McCarron learns of his girlfriend's sudden Twitter fame, vows to have LeBron follow him

MIAMI GARDENS, Florida -- The more ESPN showed AJ McCarron's girlfriend -- Miss Alabama USA pageant winner Katherine Webb -- during Monday's BCS National Championship, the more her Twitter following sky-rocketed. As of 2 a.m. on Tuesday, her group of followers stood just shy of 108,000. She began the day with somewhere in the ballpark of 2,000. She now has 20,000 more followers than McCarron, who led the Crimson Tide to its second consecutive national championship while she padded her account by the thousands. The news was broken to McCarron during the final moments of a post-game interview inside the Alabama locker room. "No way," McCarron said repeatedly. Among the followers? NBA superstar LeBron James. "Man, I'm going to Tweet him and I'm going to get a follow," McCarron said. "That's messed up. "I guess she's more famous than me now." McCarron doesn't seem bothered by the public exposure his relationship with Webb has received during the past month. He credited his mother, Dee Dee Bonner, for his good-natured approach to all of the attention. "You make it how you want to," McCarron said. "You have fun and enjoy it."
